My JVC Everio camcorder produces MPEG.2 video files. Using windows movie maker 2.6 when I want to open files into the program no file appears. Does anyone can give me some clues to solve this.

Some JVC Everios are based on XDCam, etc and use .MOD & .TOD formats, which is MPEG2-encoded video in MPEG-PS or MPEG-TS containers. Some models use AVCHD, which of course use AVC encoded video in M2TS containers.

So, for the first type, you could try changing the file extension to MPG or MTS and use remuxers, converters, editors & players that accept those formats. If truly mpeg2 in mpeg-ps container, WMP/WMM ought to be fine with it (assuming nothing untoward/unusual has been done to your installation of WMP/WMM).
