    first of all, this is NOT a request for appz, crackz, serialz, or warez...
    ===============================================

    as we all know, you dont have to activate the corporate edition of xp.. making it the pirate's choice version of windows xp...

    a "friend" of mine has this version of windows xp, and i noticed that "his" came with a convienent scan of the dvd case. it looked pretty geniune, but the cd-key looked superimposed (as the goat would say).. anyhow, after inspecting the scan for a minute or so more. i noticed that the word corporate was spelt incorrectly on the front of the dvd case, it was spelt "corportate", but on the spine it is spelt "corporate".. both spellings look superimposed... being the paranoid freak that i am, thoughts of ufo coverups and washington murders came to mind.. this seems like it could be a setup.. like this corporate version of windows xp is going to be some really good spyware.. like this is microsofts smirking revenge for all the years of rampant piracy of their software.. (not that they didnt deserve some of it)

    i dunno.. i may be wrong.. but this sure is fishy.. why would a warez group have a scan of the dvd case, but feel the need to superimpose a different cd-key & the word "corporate" ("corportate" as the case may be).. maybe this was funneled by microsoft... maybe... maybe...

    i just want to get this information out there for those of you who are using it..

    p.s.- feel free to copy this message and post it elsewhere, spread the word...

  2. Haha, one word: PARANOID. Anyway back to the post, how did he get it, like from the net or from like a street vendor? Also the case probably wasnt released by the warez group just tacked on by someone offering it in their shop or when they zipped it up for their site? As for your theory of spyware in it, I think most people believe that their is spyware already in Microsoft software whether illegally purchased or a legit copy

    The one thing that troubles me in using a cracked version of Windows, is that there may be backdoors that have been programmed into it. I just stick to my original Win98 disk and Linux, and try not to get jealous of Win2000 users (in the case of when I have to use Windows=). I think that I will just wait until I get my hands on a "legit" copy of 2000. Legit as in copied from a real Win2000, not some l337 d00dz version floating about on kazza.

    Those sharing programes....damm I think u can get that version on any one of them.....a person close to me has been using XP prof for about 5 months that came from one of those places and has not had a single hic. Even boldly downloads all of the security updates from Microsoft...hehe....

    Same place office Xp came from i think.

    Sometimes wonders tho if one day the thought police will bang on his door....but there would be a lot of doors being busted.

    I think he has paid for windows twice now (win 95 and win98a) i think thats enough contribution.

  6. 'My Friend' uses XP PRO CORP off Kazaa and 'He' has had not one single o/s related crash or anything of the sort.....

    'He' updates from Microsoft every so often and 'He' even let it register the product to 'Him' during installation (whatever that means...)

    But that dosen't mean to say what d4n13l says about some l33T dO0D copying the cd to harddrive and placing some little extra pressies in there before slapping it on Kazaa as an 'ISO' is not right does it......

    No problems dosen't mean no bits that shouldnt be there.....

  7. That's why I am wary when I install programs and shit that I have downloaded, especially programs like anti-virus or system utilities
