Hi everyone,

I'm rather new to the subject of capturing but I hope I'm not annoying experienced users with a subject that is quite too mundane.

Background:
I'd like to capture a 1080p25 video source with a 5.1 AC3 track. I have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro and a Hauppauge HD PVR 2, OS is Windows 7 x64.
Now as you know due to the mere USB 2.0 connection the image quality of the HD PVR 2 is rather sh*** compared to lossless capturing so the only point of the PVR 2 is to get the AC3 stream and use the Intensity Pro for getting the video (with downmixed stereo PCM since it cannot handle AC3) with VirtualDub x64 and Ut Video Codec.

What is the cleanest way to extract the AC3 track from the PVR .ts file and position it perfectly in AVI file created with the Intensity Pro?

I imagined something like demuxing the PVR 2 AC3 track, converting it to a stereo PCM file (with foobar 2000, just for the purpose of comparing its waveform with the PCM file captured with VirtualDub).

Is there a nice and easy graphical way to display two PCM tracks on top of each other and "move" one x millisecounds around until the two fracks are "superimposable"?

Then you would know exactly how much to cut off of the beginning of the PCM-AVI file so that the AC3 track would fit perfectly (since it takes the PVR 2 a short while until it recognizes the AC3 stream its captured video is a bit shorter than the Intensity Pro's)

Or is there a better way?
