    Hi
I am having the following problem when playing some AVI files on my Sony TV (on my PC plays them without problems)
Sony's solution (reset Tv) did not work.
I began to look at files with GSpot.
I note that those files that have the container item:
    • Audio frames: Aligned on interleaves: audio and video misaligned, the video "jump" from beginning to play 12 seconds of the file, and the audio from the beginning, not synchronized.
    • Audio frames: Split across interleaves: ok audio and video synchronized.

żI can rebuild the files in any way?
    Thanks in advance

Can't say, really. "AVI" is a container, not a format. AVI can accept many different codecs, DV, DivX, Xvid, lossless compression, etc., etc., etc. We need more in formation about how the AVI was encoded.

As mentioned, the container isn't nearly enough. I've seen h.264 video in an avi container, which is just dumb.

  4. Different programs seem to mux video and audio in AVIs in different ways. VirtualDub, if memory serves me correctly, creates an AVI with audio aligned on interleaves if it's AC3 or VBR MP3, and for CBR MP3 it's split on interleaves. I've no idea why it does it that way, but it could be the type of audio causing the problem rather than the interleaving as such. Or a combination.....

I'd try opening an AVI which won't play properly with VirtualDub, select "direct stream copy" under the video menu, then save it as a new AVI. Give the new version a spin. If that doesn't work you can try opening and resaving the AVI with avimux_gui to see if it makes a difference.

If your TV supports playing MKV, try opening a problem AVI with MKVMergeGUI and remuxing it as an MKV. The media player in my TV is sometimes a little odd with AVIs and audio sync but I've never tried working out why. It happens so infrequently I just pause/stop the video and when I resume it's back in sync. I don't think I've had the same thing happen for MKVs though. They're always fine.

    Thanks all for the replies.
Mpeg converting videos to the problem is solved.
I think Sony is an error in the update ...
What good video converter I use to not lose quality?
