Hello I’ve got a question on editing (cutting) a video file, mts container with an mpeg2 video component. After reading a lot of good reviews here on-site about “Video to Video Converter” I decided to give it a try. The file in question “Video 1 Original” see Attach comes from a TV Recorder. I used Commercial Remover to cut a portion out. The cut version (Video 2 Original Cut) plays fine on computer but back on the recorder/ Player (“Xoro 7520) it’s “unsupported format” and won’t play.. All I did was cut & direct stream but the edited version is “MPEG-TS” while the original is BDAV…..Can anybody please tell me how I get this thing to play…I’m lost here and unfortunately deleted the original. Obliged

Videoredo is best alternative to this.

Download soft and load your file in QUICKSTREAM FIX. Enjoy.

  3. Did you use the 'Direct Stream Copy' option/preset when choosing the format? Really?
I have never known it to change the container format. Probably a bug.

I was rather hoping for open-source

I used direct stream copy. I think the problem is with the codec, maybe its not standard..but other people have also had problems with .ts files. So I may have to encode, problem is to which format?

It looks like a DVB-T recording so the codec is standard. Maybe the container is not.

ProjectX is about the only freeware I have heard of that might be of use to you, but not beginner friendly and documentation is sparse. However comments I have seen indicate that there is documentation in German. You could try demuxing with ProjectX, then editing the elementary streams with Cuttermaran, and re-mux to .mpg.

ProjectX is apparently a useful tool for working with DVB-T recordings but not particularly useful here in ATSC land, so I can't really give you any specific instructions for it.

  7. Definitely a bug of some sort. It needs reporting.
Have you tried running it through Tsmuxer and outputting it as a new blu-ray or AVCHD?
Maybe you can rescue it that way. It will only take seconds or minutes. Nothing lost trying.

I demuxed another BDAV file with Tsmuxer...it came up with "one track not recognised/ignored" and outputted 2 audios and one "mpv" video file.
The TS file I decoded to mp4 (which is exactly what I wanted to avoid). This is turning into "Lets Play Linux"....all I want is a simple editor and please dont mention Avidemux/desynch

  9. VideoRedo. Machete. Not free though. I'm not sure either. My players are not as fussy as yours.

Actually, I never meant for you to demux in tsmuxer but ro remux to a bluray/AVCHD folder and extract the m2ts file
to see if it changed the flag. As the track is not recognized then the file is damaged or not compliant.

If the track is damaged then Videoredo is your best hope using the QuickStream Fix option.

I would definitely try ProjectX, it has served me well for the last 7 years using Topfield PVR 5000 and lately a Beyonwiz P1 and the latest T3 model that is based on the Enigma design. The program is designed around DVB-T have a look here http://forum.dvbtechnics.info/forumdisplay.php?f=16
