  1. Hi

can I open .mxf file in virtualdub without the FFMPEG-virtualdub plugin (because case bad size dimensions of the video using null filter cropped)? and of course without the DirectShowInputdriver.vdplugin

  2. Besides those two, the other option is avisynth script.

    Are you sure of that?

His MXF files do contain MPEG-2 video, but that's a different story

  5. Yes, actually it does work for MXF wrapped MPEG2

  7. But there appear to be some out of order repeats / glitchy frames at the end (at least on the OP's sample) when using the MPEG2 plugin . Maybe I'm using outdated plugin or something

EDIT1: nope v.4.5 appears to be the most recent . Here is the disclaimer

    http://gral.y0.pl/~fcchandler/Plugins/MPEG2/
Note: This plugin cannot read Transport Streams!
Only MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 Program Streams are supported.
Well, MXF is neither a transport stream or program stream...

EDIT2: confirmed there are similar issues using MPEG2 plugin on other MPEG2/MXF samples as well that are decoded ok by other methods

And the MPEG2 plugin works fine on the demuxed elementary stream from the MXF - so that suggests it's the MXF wrapper causing the issues

  8. My source: C0015 is SD, C0020 is HD

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39871584/C0015.MXF

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39871584/C0020.mxf

    I have virtualdub 1.10.4 with only MPEG2.vdplugin - result: don't open nothing

Only if I do: ffmpeg -i c0020.mxf [or C0015.mxf] -vcodec copy -an C0020.mpg -------------> virtualdub can open C0020.MPG or C0015.MPG correctly

So you wonder: why you don't use the FFinputdriver.vdplugin in virtuadub to open directly C0020.mxf and C0015.mxf?
FFinputdriver.vdplugin works well for HD file, meanwhile for SD file I get any problem of image-size (https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/363974-virtuadub-size-image-error)

So I was looking for a different way to open .mxf files in virtualdub

With Avisynth and the FFMS2-r725 I get another problem in some long .mxf files: "Video Track is unseekable" (https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/359527-%5BAvisynth%5D-FFVideoSource-Video-track-is-unseekable)

It opens both your SD and HD MXF files here.

Answered in your other thread. In short, disable pixel scaling in the ffmpeg plugin.

I refer to .mxf files. Virtualdub open .mpg file, but not my .mxf files. Are you sure your virtualdub opens .mxf with only the mpeg2.vdplugin?
