I've been playing around with downloading divx and what not, have installed the codecs to view certain movies. No problems. But now the quality of playback in windows media player is shitty. Looks like someone turned the heat sensor on or something the way the colors are all swirly. What happened? If i view the clip on another PC on my network its fine. One that hasn't had Divx and what not installed on it.
And another note, it appears to be only .avi files that look like ass.
Thanks

Oh and another weird thing. WHen I fast forward a mpg alittle bit, the movie fps jumps and the clip gets all screwy. I've got too nice of a PC for this to be happening. I will eventually figure it out but I know there is someone out there who knows more about this subject than me.

Know where your coming from brother! A Divx codec screwed up my WMP playback too. Usually when I drag the play bar they get fast and jittery. Recommend you uninstall that codec and try different ones till one works right with your OS and WMP.

Thanks man. I guess I will have to do that. Or I could install WMP 7, but i hate it... oh well we'll see what happens
