Hi today VLC player crashed while doing search task. Prior to this all music files played ok with WMP & VLC players. Now I get "undf" right on the music file where I was before. They are just straight files from my own CD's, WMP still plays them perfectly, so... they ARE a recognisable file! Maybe when VLC crashed (it came back ok but with minor irregularities) the route to these files was corrupted. The mystery is I uninstalled VLC, then re-installed VLC & the problem is just the same. All Video is ok etc just the Music section,
any advise please, do I keep VLC or is there a good alternative player that can do what VLC normally does quite well?
Thanks!

I'm moving you to our software player section then.
Have you tried a portable VLC version? Like https://www.videohelp.com/download/vlc-2.1.2-win32.zip and extract to a folder and run vlc.exe.
Or try search the official forum, http://forum.videolan.org/ -
Thanks Baldrick for your time am following up on your suggestions, good day.
