I've been successfully used BD-RB for a couple years, and have a good feel for how it works. But suddenly it refuses to encode. See log below, I have tried two different movies with exactly same problem, so I only am showing one log. The other is the same. I don't think I changed anything......I also tried a movie-only same thing. This one is full disk.

  2. Have you tried re-installing Avisynth, ffdshow and Haali?

I've read in a couple places that if Haali is corrupted, you need to uninstall it and manually delete the folder, then install it. Do that instead of re-installing over top of the old install.

    Good luck.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

OK, I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

The input video says Mpeg-2 codec, 1920 x 1080 and 29.97fps, 270 frames. This is not normal for Blu-ray video, but is possibly a trailer, or intro/menu of some sort since you are doing a full backup.

The Master is encoded with H264, 1080p, 23.976fps. I'd like to see the movie only log.

Have you tried the internal x264 LAVF filters for decoding?

There an option in the BD-RB setting to "Use internal LVAF for decoding" or something very similar to that. I have found that if you turn this on (it is unchecked and thus off by default in ALL installations of BD-RB) that it does better with interlaced video than not using it. 29.97 fps at 1920x1080 is interlaced. Just be glad it's MPEG-2 as I've never seen BD-RB fail to be able to handle interlaced MPEG-2 once you make that change, but I have definitely seen BD-RB fail no matter what you do on some interlaced VC-1 input. Kerry56 mentions this option but maybe my post will get you specifically pointed to where you need to set it.

Your analysis is spot on, it was one of many extras. Here is a log of another that also failed, movie only. Thinking the movie, or the rip was the problem I tried a second movie with different settings, hoping it was just the VID.
At any rate the previous poster suggested reinstalling the support progs. which I did, it seems to be working now.
So thanks for the help and suggestions.

All I can tell you from the above is that it's not interlaced video. You may need to rip that disc again. It may be a problem with the rip itself. The video itself is not strange and BD-RB should be able to handle it. You can also try my LVAF suggestion. I always turn this on and as I find it just helps to use it all the time.
