need to get video from my Sony CX190 to computer for edit. Need advice on good capture device and software. Thought I could copy the files from camera card to computer but Sony may be encoding the files. I cannot find software that will open the files, and video conversion software seems to degrade the quality. Any advice would be appreciated

No capturing or converting required. Copy the entire dated folder to your computer using the usb cable. Sony's own Vegas Movie Studio ($40) will edit the media natively.

Thank You for the post, downloaded Vegas and it worked as you said, although I had to buy a second DVD Architect to actually burna disk. Sony always seems to get further into your pockets. Thank you again.
