How to make Philips HTS5590/12 region free?

Hi,

I own a Philips HTS5590/12 (version firmware: V56) and I would like to make it region free. I already tried the code on the next link https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/philips-hts5590/11147 but it doesn't work for me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It is possible that the code doesn't work on your firmware now. This happens a lot when firmware gets updated. You might see if there is older firmware available and if your model allows you downgrade the firmware, but some players don't allow firmware downgrades. Although I haven't heard of this with Philips players, some manufacturers make the same model number have completely different hardware in different parts of the world and the code may only work with players sold in a specific place like Australia and nowhere else.

Please note that home theater and Blu Ray models usually can't ever be made region free, not even for only DVD playback.
