Sry and what's the error you're getting ? It's an Update so it'll update your old version don't uninstall the old version.

i have found that the potplayermini.exe it has only 63 kb and the older version it's 179 kb. it's like it is not complete!
-
idk is there a problem though with just running the update to update the player ? I mean i can't help you really because there is no update for the 64 bit version so I can't test the update.

nope! same problem! download it again, install it normally and same crappy error.

. you are using the latest stable version and i'm using the latest beta update. we will not experience same issues because you have x64 and i x86.
anyway, thanks for the responses! -
I suspect the difference is beta vs. stable, and if x64 vs. x86 were a problem I think I'd not use the program.
This is a good example of why I generally avoid betas. For every bug programmers fix there tend to be at least one more generated.
In fact, unless you are having problems with the version you have, there's no need to update unless the program uses the web and can therefore have security issues. -
i update the program to correct or avoid any playback issues, and potplayers developer are in general very good at that. and in general potplayer it's an eternal beta program
. i think that the "compiler upgrade" it's the problem in the latest update. i will just wait for the next update and hope they will solve it.

I use the 32 bit version but I went to the links HERE on videohelp to download the update for it and tested it both by double clicking multiple files to open as well as double clicking the exe file. I had no problems with it. Then I downloaded the 1.5.34860 64 bit version and installed it as a complete version for the first time side by side with the 32 bit version which was not a problem since it installs into it's own folder. It too worked fine for me ( I have a Windows 7 Ultimate computer, though it shouldn't matter) .
In view of this, I might suggest you uninstall and reinstall in case some weird problem like a file that is corrupted and not getting updated. It's worth a try.
BTW... I know this is silly of me to suggest but you aren't having this problem on the same one file that you are using to test that may be corrupt are you? I know... I know... its just that I've seen errors from players because of the media so I added this as an after thought.Last edited by Budman1; 16th Dec 2012 at 16:08. Reason: update
