Hi, I'm a new user here. I have a question regarding sampling the points of transitions between clips. I've imported a movie file from an AVI, and have cut it up into clips and put them into a sequence. However, when I put a cross-fade or fade between the clips, it says 'building preview, please wait' every-time I try to watch it. Because it doesn't pause the playback as it builds the preview, by the time the film appears again the transition has long past and it's well into the next clip.


Is there someway to compile/watch the preview without exporting to avi each time I want to see what it looks like?


NB: I realise importing from DVD is better, but I'm making a noir montage for a party so I'm not so concerned with quality - grainy is good in this instance.
