I wish to be able to make my own intruction short/movie to be placed at the beginning of my SVCDs. Does anyone have any tutorials/links/programs that they can suggest? Thank you to all who responds.

Try the 30-day trial of this:

I use UVS6 - I'm a huge fan of old, classic films (mostly captured from the TCM network), and I usually make a short trailer/info clip at the beginning of my VCD/SVCDs.
1. Fade in to a commercial. Commercial? I have an big library of old B&W TV commercials in 352x240 - I pick one according to the movie's release year; if it's a 1952 release, you might get the "I Like Ike" campaign ad, if it's a 1938 film, perhaps the Lucky Strike "square dancing cigarettes" spot (just one commercial per movie) - fade to black. Fades already at the ends of commercial mpgs.
2. Fade in to the intro - one or two teaser scene excerpts with crossfades in between - fade to black
3. Fade in to an animated background with scrolling info about Title/Year Oscar/BAFTA wins/nominations with "upcoming feature" type music playing, then fade to black. This clip has the same background and music on every VCD/SVCD (pre-made mpg file, fades and all), with only the title track text changing according to each movie (only takes 10-15 seconds to type the info).
That's it, the whole thing is ~2 minutes, then fade in and roll the film. It takes perhaps 5 minutes to do each one, but that's not much time at all.As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
