Using 1DVD Creator to burn movie from iMovie to disk

I followed the directions on their website: Firstly, export iMovie project to video files to burn iMovie project to DVD which only support M4V format. When an iMovie project is completed, select it and click "Share" at the top of the window in the Menu bar. And on the following list, choose "Export Movie...", and then a small window will show up. You can choose the route to store the videos and the format to save your iMovie project. Here you are suggested to choose Large or HD 720p to save iMovie project to high quality video for burning to DVD. The default output folder is Movies.

But when I play the disk, there isn't anything there; however the disk show 20,480 bytes used on the disk. I've tried many times and also tried to email them, but no response.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Firstly, export iMovie project to video files to burn iMovie project to DVD which only support M4V format.

Maybe you're using the wrong product. You want to make a DVD, not an mp4 data disk. Why not just use iDVD? (free)

I actually have iDVD (iLife 11), but in speaking with Apple, it doesn't support HD.

If you're trying to burn a DVD that can be played on a standalone player you are restricted to SD no matter what software you use (see what is DVD at the upper left of this site.)

If you're just burning movie files to a disk, apple's own utilities do fine. You don't need additional crapware.

I have used apple's own utilities. When I burnt the disk this way, I could play it on my computer and I could play it at work (PC) but not on my DVD player.

I downloaded the free version of 1DVD and was able to burn a disk, but it only allowed me five minutes of the program. So I bought the 1DVD Creator. I have only been able to burn to a disk using the .mts files - not directly from iMovie as it states on their website.

Again, DVD for a player must be standard def only.

Using the iMovie share menu, you can export your movie into iDVD and it will take care of everything for you.

This is the proper and expected behavior of HD files burned to a DVD data disk.

1DVD appears to be a cheap, unnecessary front end that leverages built-in mac functions.
