  1. Hi guys

    i am usually downloading torrents to watch movies and most of the time i am getting it as MP4 ...so to play it im my DVD player with my USB i need it to convert it to AVI file ...when it done i can see its AVI file but when i start it to play it in my DVD player or even in my TV i get "invalid Format"


    Note:my DVD player or TV usually play any kind of AVI file and I tried with 6 video conversion software

    You should do a little research and find out what you're doing. "AVI" is a container, not a format. It can contain video encoded with several different "formats". "Mp4" is the same thing: it's a container that can contain video encoded using several different formats.

  4. No doubt your DVD player only supports Divx/Xvid (MPEG 4 part 2) in an AVI container. If your MP4 files contain Divx/Xvid video you can simply remux it into a AVI container. Otherwise you'll have to convert the video from whatever it is (often h.264) to Divx/Xvid. There are a number of programs that do that. Try something like Xvid4PSP or AviDemux. You may also have to convert the audio if it's not MP3 or AC3.

    A better solution is to get a standalone media player like the Western Digital WDTV series. They play most files without you have to speed a lot of time converting them.

  7. Hey out there I just convert a video from MP4 to XViD with freemake video converter to play it on my TV .first the quality was not that good and there is delay between the sound and picture ...any suggestions?

    Try instead xvid4psp 5. Use the avi hardware preset.
