Albeit, I just started using Izotope, but I'm not understanding why there's a bit of "leftover" noise in my "AFTER" file. From the screenshot you can clearly see the chirps above/below the waveform. I tried using the "replace" feature. Anyone have some idea of how to resolve this dilemma? It'd be nice to remove the cicadas without being able to hear where they used to be o_O ...
If nobody has any clue what Izotope even is then I might be screwed

Sorry, that shot is BEFORE I did anything to the audio.

  3. Not working? That type of "noise" reduction never works perfectly with broad spectrum sounds. Starting with a higher quality source would help.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Long time no see.
I know it won't be perfect, but this isn't even close. Again though, I'm just starting to learn it.
    The highest quality is the DVD's 448 Kbps, 48.0 KHz, 16-bit AC-3 :/
Perhaps if I took a less haphazard approach it might be better. Do you have personal experience with Izotope?

BTW, if my last question sounded condescending, no. I just meant it as simply as it sounded, as it may help in what I'm trying to do. Some people may interpret it the wrong way, thinking I was talking down in some way. From past posts you should know I'm not like that. Of course, there is the possibility that you merely had nothing more to contribute in any way, I'm overthinking it and I've had too many brews *facepalm*
