  2. Just load the audio into MeGUI's audio section and select whichever encoder you wish to use. You can configure the encoder as you normally would, then add the encoding job to the queue using the queue button in the audio section.

whether u want to keep the original or want them as .ac3 output. So if u decide for .ac3output select it and wait for it to output.

if u like to downmix then choose it but if u want the channel to remain as it is choose keep original channel and sample rate.

  9. Generally the audio will be either 5.1 channel surround sound (front left and right, centre, rear left and right and sub) or simply stereo, but there's a few other surround sound types. Whatever the format, selecting "keep original channels" will keep the audio channels as they are.

The other MeGUI option mainly used would be to downmix the surround sound audio to stereo (smaller file size) but there's a few other options to choose from.

The MP2 and MP3 encoder don't support multichannel audio, so if you choose one of them there's no "keep original channels" option as it must be mixed down to stereo.

I'm converting FLAC to AC3 for DVD. I know all I have to do is go to Encoder Settings and pick Aften AC-3: Aften - DVD - Good but me being curious I clicked Config and under Preferred Encoder is says NicAudio, FFAudioSource, DirectShow, and BassAudio. Which one of these is the best? Obviously not BassAudio though because I don't want a bass boosted DVD.

  11. Just leave it on NicAudio and MeGUI should try that decoding method first. If it fails for some reason I think it'll step through the rest of the decoders in the list till it finds one which works.

BassAudio is (I think) a dedicated AAC/MP4 audio decoder. Nothing to do with boosting the bass as such.
