    Hello,

I'm gonna be in some really hot water if I can't fix this.

Yesterday, I was recording a video on my camera when... the batteries fell out...

I was able to recover the .AVI video file, but it won't play.

I tried to convert it using WinFF, but it says "Unknown Format"

I don't know what to do!!!

The video is in the .ZIP folder attached to this.

I am in urgent need of help at the moment.

If you can help make the video playable, you will be my hero.

    THANKS TO WHOEVER CAN HELP!

That video file is ZERO bytes in size. It contains NOTHING. You can not play NOTHING.

Did you upload the original vid or your attempt to convert it ?

The conversion could have resulted in a zero-byte file.

It was the original vid., Straight from the SD card. But I had to put it in a .ZIP folder so it would upload to this site.

  6. You still might be able to recover the video from the SD card. Try different recovery software.

My guess is you did not 'recover' the vid from the card but merely copied what you saw.

As jagabo states, you need to use file recovery software to grab what your OS is not seeing but what has been written to the card. It will never be the complete recording. The most you can expect is up to the time the batts fell out. I assume you already have another recording from when you restored the batts and it may be possible to then join them together.

You can search the forum for suggestions of file recovery software. The one I have used successfully is 'Zero Assumption Recovery'. There are several others.
