Which Vegas?

Hi,

I've been using the Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 12 trial version and now I would like to buy one of the vegas products. I would need your help to choose it.

For the moment I'm doing basic editing, nothing sophisticated, and initially I thought that I can buy the cheapest one and upgrade whenever needed. However, I think that the upgrade price does not equal the difference between the purchase price, but it's higher.

Assuming that I buy the one that I have now: Movie Studio Platinum 12 for 99$
the upgrade from Movie Studio Platinum 12 to Movie Studio Platinum 12 Suite is 89$ (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/upgrade/moviestudiopp) so basically I would pay 99$ + 89$ to get the Suite version if I buy first the Platinum version and afterwards upgrade.

Do you know which is their upgrade policy? maybe I'm wrong in my above assumptions.

It might be the best option to just buy the Suite. You get the SNs to activate the trial and the Suite extras in the package. If you buy the online store download, they're in the order confirmation email, which has the D/L links for all.

Do you know if the Windows 7 version sold by amazon would work on Win 8?

There is a considerable difference for sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite 12 on amazon and sold directly by Sony, around 90$.

looks like a real bargain. Should be the same SCS is selling, but the package probably has the initial build. You don't even have to install that, just activate the trial (probably a newer build) with the serial number you get.
I don't have Win8, but the SCS forum has reports of MSP 12 working right.
I see you're in Europe though, so I don't know if you get this option to purchase.

That was my fear as well that amazon won't ship to Europe, and it turned out to be true... so no bargains for europeans...
anyway it's good that I know not to start with the cheapest version and then pay double for the upgrade.

I'll try to see whether thee are other online stores selling , I really doubt it that I'll find it cheaper. on amazon.fr it's 89EUR.
