    I have one of these old televisions and it won't tune to the output of an RF Modulator. I think the television dates from the mid 1980s. I just wanted to know if there was a setting or some such I might have missed before I throw it out.

    It's a decent enough question, but I guess nobody is interested. I'm hardly an expert, but since nobody else wants to respond...

    Make sure you tried channels 3 and 4 on the TV as if I remember correctly, RF Modulators use those channels just like a VCR does to sound output.

    Your coax cable could be bad. You'll need to get another one to test with.

    This TV is really old and expecting it to work just may not be realistic.

    Yes you are correct these types of modulators can be set the same way as a VCR. I was using this modulator and cable with another tv so I think that the tv's tuner is to blame. I couldn't find any service info so I'm going to throw it out.
