  1. When I import video from a DVD, Sony Movie Studio creates a series of 5-minute mpg clips. I add the clips to the timeline to edit. When I play the clips on the timeline, however, there is a noticeable gap between clips.

Are these gaps only noticeable on the timeline? Will they disappear once burned to a DVD?

I would like to know if there is a way to import one large mpg clip instead of numerous 5-min clips. If not, is it possible to join clips and remove the gaps between them? Thanks.

The stop doing that - turn that option OFF in the DVD recorder menu options.
VOB2MPEG should work and give you one, giant lump of video.
If not....DVDDecrypter can also do it.

That method worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip.

I didn't make the DVD, so there was nothing I could do about the chapter markers. However, it looks like it will take Movie Studio over an hour to render a DVD that is 1:44:00 in length.

The video is already DVD compatible mpeg2, so I'm surprised it takes so long. Is it normal to take this long?
