I will not be. I'm having enough trouble keeping up with game for the xbox 360 and ps3. That was why I got rid of my wii a few years ago. I couldn't keep up with the games I wanted to play so I decided to thin out my supply.

Of course now I'm getting back into the gamecube and ps2 for the tales of games but those are relatively cheap to get into. Not compared to a new 300.00+ console and 50-60 USD games and the extra accessories of course.

If I was still a diehard nintendo loyalist I would certainly be getting one. But I haven't been since the snes. Sure I've owned every console they've made at one point or another. And someday I'm sure I'll get a wii u when they are sub 200.00 or less. But I don't have any intention of getting one now.

What about you? Do you have it preordered? Are you going to wait in line? Are you in line right now?

I was wondering - does it upconvert wii games? I know tvs do upconverting but only to a certain degree. Is there dedicated processing power in the Wii U to upconvert wii games?

Last I read, it won't up-convert Wii or GameCube games at all, but I'm hoping that will change.

Till then, we'll need beefy PCs, and hope development continues on the Dolphin Emulator,
so it can get to a point where it can fully support every Wii and GC Game.

  6. Too expensive & games are $60.00 Too much. I can wait. You have to buy it & a game too. $400+ to play Mario in HD is silly.

From the video I watched on Gamestop it said "you will see many of your old favorites and some new favorites in exquisite HD"

    http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/consoles/nintendo-wii-u-8gb-basic-set/104795

And it has HDMI output so I am betting it does upconvert, at least, original Wii games.
They screwed up for sure by not making the original Wii HD when systems older than the Wii & other systems of the same time were all HD.

But the original Wii was the biggest gimmick in gaming I have probably ever seen and the new Wii U seem's even worse!!!

I had a Wii a couple of years ago, soft modded it, added an external USB HDD, played a few games, made it do many things the stock Wii would never do, after about 2 months of playing it very little I sold it.

I doubt, and you can bet $$$, I will never own one again!!
And maybe in a few years I will get a used Wii U, see how much of a gimmick it is, hack it, mod it, then sell it!!
    LOL!!

    Love the original Wii.

Hacked it to play my video files from a networked computer upstairs, plus added emulators and hundreds of games. Love it.

As for the WiiU, I know nothing about it and don't see a need to learn.
