I was just surfing around on eBay and came across this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/140-IR-LED-Infrared-Night-Vision-Illuminator-Lamp-for-CCTV-Cam...item43b043bc90

No idea how bright it is or anything, but it got me to wondering if something like this could be used for budget video lighting? I'm curious because the lighting I have now works, but they get pretty darn hot. I know LED lights don't get so hot (I have a small one at my desk)

Are there any budget LED lighting solutions available that anyone here is using?

  3. They are for infra red night vision cameras. They won't work for normal camcorders or cameras.

  5. At 9 watts they probably put out about as much light as a 40 watt incandescent bulb.

I bought this lamp as an addition to my security system and what a difference it makes. Where my IR cameras were adequate in the dark, this lamp has made an immense difference. Sight distance is increased and therefore more secure. The lamp is well made and the same size as a standard halogen light. This is powered from the mains socket with a two part push in adaptor. Would definitely recommend this lamp if your IR cameras are struggling in a very dark area.
There are options like LED 50W floodlight, Infrared Sensor LED Solar Lights ,LED high bay lights and many more.
