  1. Hey,

I'm trying to use the tutorial on this site here on high quality DVD ripping to VCD format using DVDx with the Panasonic MPEG1 Encoder Plugin.

    I have a P4 1.7Ghz with 768MB RDRAM, a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-106 and a 60GB Harddrive, so should be ample specs for this.
Using DVDx 1.8a and Panasonic MPEG1 Encoder Plugin for Adobe Premiere v2.50.

Basically, I choose my input and use exactly the same settings as shown on the VCDHelp tutorial. But when I click "Encode" I get this error:

    --
    Panasonic MPEG1 Encoder

Some of the parameters are not correct in "Export Movie Settings" panel.

    Invalid Output Image Size.
Output Image Size must be 352 X 288 for VideoCD/PAL.
Video Width and Height must be multiples of 16.
Video Width is out of range. (64 - 1024)
Video Height is out of range. (64 - 1024)

I have checked and double checked that the resolution is set to 352x288, and have also changed the plugin to output to MPEG1 file instead of VCD/PAL and changed the resolution. It always says I have the wrong output size.

    I just can't figure it out...any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

Even if you set the parameters in a right way you will always get this message and plugin will refuse to work. The problm is that DVDx 1.8a will not work with Panasonic plugin at all. Version 1.6 works great with the plugin, though. Try this one.

  3. Thanks a lot. I didnt go that far back looking at previous posts on my problem - sorry.

I also emailed the writer of that tutorial and he told me to use DVDx 1.6 too.

    Cheers for the help,

    Stuart
