  1. Hey guys,
Now that I have mastered the vcd with the help of many of you
in these forums I have decided to move on to dvd. So, I am a newbie all
    over again.
I recently ripped The 5th Element (as a test) so I could begin
learning the dvd part of this stuff. I used Smartripper and chose the
backup option ripping all files. Then, using Ifoedit corrected my vts sectors. I should now be ready to burn my video_ts... ummm, right??
Anyway I read that Windvd would play the vob files as a playlist so I
figured I would play my rip back and see what happens. Well.. my first
vts with all the menu options whizzez by and then the movie starts.
When the actor movie credits begin to appear on screen thay are being
announced(narrarated) as they appear on screen. Then after scanning
through certain scenes using windvd I see that most of the movie is
dubbed is spanish, not all of it but most. So... my questions are :
    1. is this just a side-effect from playing the vob's through windvd and not
being able to select a language on the menu ?
    2. If not, what might I have done wrong ?
    3. Is making an IMG file easier and does it remove the protection for burn?
    4. Am I totally lost???? Help....

As always..... your help is most greatly appreciated. Without your
feedback I would have given up on this hobby a long time ago......

    HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Hmmm... maybe I have just answered one of my own questions. Instead
of using windvd I tried powerdvd 4.0 and everything plays normal when
playing from hard drive. Go figure.

  3. burn it to dvd-rw and then do a test playback to see if it truly works, if it does then do a final dvd-r burn.
