I have been trying to edit and author a dvd of home movies I had transferred from my fathers super 8 films. The problem I have is when I transfer from vegas pro 11 to dvd architect then burn to dvd the video has black bars on the sides. If I burn straight from vegas it shows full screen when playing but I have no cue points. The original file was standard def 720 x 480 4.3 and plays normal with no black bars. I used dvd shrink to extract the vob's to my hard drive then took Mpg2Cut2 to edit out the parts I wanted then used vegas pro to put them in order and add sound and cues at standard ntsc 720 x 480 and if I use vegas to burn without authoring it plays fine just no cues. If I add cues in vegas and author then open in dvd architect at 720 x 480 4.3 add menu then make dvd it has bars on the side. I even tried to go back and do it as 16.9 widescreen in vegas then the same in architect and its the same even worse. If I could figure out how to burn the cues from vegas it would be fine as it plays fine as long as I dont author it. Any one see something simple I am doing wrong that they can coach me through. I am a total noob with video so please try and keep it as simple as you can so I can try and understand. Thanks- Jason
