  1. hi, im having a problem with my camcorder. well, more of a software problem rather than hardware. i was recording a clip for a school assignment with my camcorder, but when i finished recording i found out that the disc (DVD-RW VR) was alredy finalized. there was a clip that was in the disc before it was finalized and when i tried converting it in order to edit the whole disc, i only get the clip before it was finalized.

    So to give better understanding
    Clip 1 -> finalized -> clip 2 -> convert to avi -> only received clip 1

    it was as if the 2nd clip didnt exist!

    so please help me, would be much appreciated.

    I changed the thread title so it better describes your problem. You can adjust it by click on edit and go advanced.

    You could try something like isobuster or cdroller.

    In my experience, once a DVD-RW disc is finalized, writing to it again becomes impossible until it is re-formatted. I would not expect data recovery software to find any video from your post-finalization recording session.

    @op, you mentioned dvd-rw vr as being possible to continue recording, post-finalization...

    From everything I have read and experienced, this is not possible. What MIGHT be possible is to UN-finalize the disc and then resume recording. But since you didn't do this, it is very likely that your post-finalized footage never actually got recorded
