    Just put on new hard drive and have reinstalled VirtualDub, TMPGenc and VCD Easy. What else do I need to be able to convert avi to mpeg and be able to watch it on my standalone dvd player please. Do I need ASPI and codec?

    I would download the latest codec from www.divx.com.
    You do from time to time come across corrupted frames in your DivX so I also have DivFix and a special version of Virualdub found in Divx Digest site under Virtualdub...mp3..freeze.
    DivFix may repair the corruptions but if not ,you can remove the frames with Vdub following the instructions supplied.
