I know about that threat , and I owned 5800 that I sold ( that was brand new literally not played maybe since was purchased by the previous owner in the original box and the remote never used ), but it suffered from very wavy (tbc ish ) picture ( and some sort of composite sickness in the svideo connection aka sort of crosstalk color bleed type, that even picture from regular 4 head philips vhs, looked much better and strait, and i got that vcr for free ( not to mention differences from panasonic models like nv fs 200) . ( not to mention differences from panasonic models like nv fs 200) .
s5000 seems very different in design than 5800, the vcr looks very clean and in very good shape it is rebranded as telefunken 1200 in Europe.

One thing I also cannot get figure it out is is it newer or older than 300x or 4600 series ( judging by the number it is newer, but judging by the design ( it is very straight sharp lines, similar to panasonic g30 that i owned in the early 80 compared to the curved type like 4600) it is older.Last edited by mammo1789; 25th May 2012 at 02:02.
