I have searched the forum here as well as Papa Johns site and am not finding the answer to my question. My wife asked me on short notice to put together a DVD photo slide show with music for my daughters class. I used PS3 and got it done. The project was about 700 MEG and when I saved it from the "project" to a wmv it went down to about 100 Meg. I viewed it on my computer and the photo quality was really poor. Most of the photos were taken with my DSLR camera and are around 3 meg each, all JPG. Assuming I can figure out how to save it without loosing quality what is the best format to convert the WMV file to to put it on a DVD and have the best chances that it will play on a majority of random people's DVD players. I have IMG Burn and DVD Flick on my computer and both programs would not import the WMV file. DVD Flick said that the Codec was wrong or something and IMG Burn would not accept it. My father in law has DVD Fab on his computer but I don't know what is the best way to get it on a DVD with decent quality. I need to get these done in a couple days. When I saved the project and it was converted to a wmv file I had the option of PAL and NTSC (or something like that). After a Google search I selected the NTSC.
    Thanks for the help.

never heard of photo story. but, don't save to wmv to start with. find some way to go directly to dvd from photo story. quality will be abysmal re-encoding again to dvd spec.

  3. Doesn't Windows Movie Maker import those Photo Story files. If so, use WMM to make your DVD. If that doesn't work then just use WMM to create your slide show then burn to DVD.

    OK
I think WMV is the only save option for photo story. It says in the help file it saves as WMV and then you must use another application depending on what format you want to covert it to. I will try to download Movie Maker and see if I can import the project from photo story before it coverts to WMV. I am hoping I don't have to start over again, I need this done and 20 copies made by Thursday.

I still never did figure out how to save the project from PS3 without loosing a bunch of quality. Since I was in a hurry I ended up using Windows DVD Maker (I think that is what it is called) and burnt the WMV file to DVD and it is playing in all my players. I friend of mine had transfered it to a VOB file (Again I think that is what he said) and put it onto a CD stating it will play in a DVD player as well. I have 3 different DVD players in my house and none of them would play the CD.
