I'm trying to figure out what my options are for a camcorder. I am going to specifically use it to record videos of my kinetic art and post these to Youtube and elsewhere on the web.
More specifics:
Budget: Close to $500
Platform: Macbook Pro with iMovie v6 (I do have an external hard drive)
Lighting: Might need to use it in some lower light situations. It's not always easy to light up what I'm working on.
Motion: I'm going to be recording marbles or balls rolling, and sometimes at high rates of speed. Clarity of the image IS important.
I hope that helps with suggestions. I was looking at the Panasonic HVC700K, but I'm having trouble figuring out if it would work with my Mac. I've been digging and can't find the answer. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Many thanks, and if there's more info you need to give me a better answer, please let me know and I'll be happy to provide it.
