Please help

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THST THE BEST QUALITY TO DOWNLOAD A FILM AS IS DIVX. BUT MY BURNING SOFTWARE (NERO) ONLY ALLOWS MPG TO BE BURNED.
I HAVE JUST FOUND A AVI TO MPG ENCODER. ITS NAME IS TMPGEnc. FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THIS SITE ALL IS OK UNTIL I COME TO PREVIEW I DONT AUDIO OR VIDEO.

I ENCODED THE FILE ANYWAY. WHEN I COME TO PLAY THE FILE BACK ON MY PC OR DVD I ONLY GET SOUND.

AM I ENCODEING THE FILE WRONG OR IS IT SOMTHING ELSE?
