first find out what file type your video is with mediainfo and then go to the tools dept and find a free editor that supports the file type

sometimes you have to convert to a workable file type but look first

  3. It depends, to an extent, on the format the video is in. Is it AVI, or a DVD format (with IFO and VOB files in a folder), or MP4?
Whatever you do, as the video is precious, make a backup copy first.
Now let us know the video format and someone will be able to advise you better. Also, what is the make of camera?

The model number of the camera will help narrow the editing options.

Also some basic computer details. Processor, memory, OS, disk space.

That camera produces video encoded MJPEG.

    From PL210 manual.

What editing software do you have? If none try Windows Live Movie Maker first.
