I have captured some old video using an ATI All-in-Wonder with a 480x480 SVCD template. So it is compliant for SVCD, but the capture is over 2G's, obviously too big for one disk. I have used a VOB splitter to break the capture into smaller segments. The challenge is the first segment is recognized and burned to disk (VCDeasy), the balance of the segments are not recognized and not compliant so they won't burn. What am I missing.

I have tried splitting the capture with TMPGenc but the audio falls out of sync.

I would appreciate any input from out there. Thanx

I'd try splitting it all up with the VOB splitter, and then de-mux and re-mux the parts separately in TMPGEnc using the "MPEG-2 super vcd" setting setting under MPEG tools. Just a guess.

    Thanx,

But TMPGenc does not recognize the segments split after the first segment. It is like some kind of header is missing. The segments will play in WMP, but I can't burn them with VCDeasy.

    I did try your suggestion.

    Thanx anywho.

I think that this has something to do with multiplexing the segments, as the error I get is: GNU VCDImager only accepts/analyses multiplexed program streams...

Every time I go to de-multiplex I basically get a non-compliant source error.

Forget the VOB splitter I guess.

Is the audio sync OK all the way through the source file? Just asking. Before I upgraded to MMC7.5 it was hit or miss if a capture was in sync.

Are you using the latest version of TMPGenc? (2.53) I've had good audio sync results after splitting and joining with the latest version.

Try de-muxing and re-muxing the entire 2G source file in TMPGenc first as an SVCD in TMPGenc. (You have to do that anyway with the MMC captured SVCD file to make it really SVCD compliant.)

    Then split the file.

You can also try bbMPEG or MPEG2VCR, downloadable in the tools section. They can split too, I believe.

    Thanx

Will try, but I have done the demux/remux and my sync went out the window. I will try it again with the whole capture and go from there.

    Much appreciated

  7. I have a ATI Radeon 64DDR VIVO (video in Video out), Sound Blaster Live ATI newest drivers MMC7.6 Pemtium 4 1.5hz (3HD 80gig ATA100, Pioneer A03 DVD-r) and 512 Rambus Ram.

    Before MMC7.6 I coundnt capture directly to 720x480 mpeg2 8,000 bitrate now I can.
I made a SVCD profile, I capture an hour program then De-multiple the File.mp2 with TMPGenc (go to File then Tools).
With the movie.m2v and movie.mp2 I go to bbmpg12418 and click start encoding then settings, then program stream settings (select SVCD), then input and output files (click open PS write NEWMOVIE.MPG then click Open VS insert Movie.m2v, then click Open AS insert Movie.Mp2) after all that go to General settings and in MAX size use 790 for 80min CD then hit ok and then start. You will get as many files needed but no bigger than 790.

After that I use VCDEASY to make an Image very easy look for the guide here on AUTHOR.

I used to have Sync problems with audio and Video. It appears to be a codec I installed. I installed Tusinami codec Pack and for the sound it used some Morgan Splitter that it enables to have multiple audio in a avi. I remove it using DXMAN at http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/dxman.htm
I still have to check there site http://www.morgan-multimedia.com it may be a good codec I just dont know how to use it but all the audio was goin through that codec you can use GraphEdit to see that.

To Record a CD in XP I use Daemon Tools, load the image with the Virtual CD and select Copy CD to CD on Nero. I dont Know wy but my Pioneer A03 doent work with CDRWIN nor Fireburner. I havent got any problem with Nero. I use cheap CD's in my Daewoo 3000N With no problem.

With the Daewoo 3000N I cant go to a direct time so with VCDEASY I make a chapter every 5 min and with the childrens backups I make I make it in to a Loop and the resulting image I play it back for hour to my childrens.
