I found an old thread from 2010, but wanted to know if there was any new information.
I'm looking for an application that will check the integrity of an .mp4 file, prior to watching it and having it skip/stall. This results in me having to re-encode with HandBrake. So...it would be nice to know if a file is OK prior to playing.
thanks

I don't think any such software exists. What did the old thread recommend?

the old thread said pretty much the same thing. If i run it through FFMPEG, it gives me another file, but with the same error, only thing that seems to work is re-encoding. Only happens once in awhile, but annoying none the less.
What I do now, if it's the holiday's, and family will be over watching a movie, i'll let it play through a few days before without watching it. If my Roku hangs, i'll re-encode and have it ready to go when everyone is around.
