I have read through most of the tutorials and have no success in trying to edit an mpeg from an svcd or tryin to convert it to an mpeg1 so I can edit it with tmpegenc. If someone could offer some advice I'd really appreciate it. I'm tryin to take scenes out a long mpeg file and just take certain parts or scenes. Then I am going to try to make a photoalbum vcd out of the different parts. if anyone has any advice on any of these subject, would be every so grateful to all the vcd godz on this forum.
Peace - Deus

If you want to re-encode some clips to VCD:
1) copy avseq01.mpg from /mpeg2 folder of the SVCD onto your HD
2) open your mpg with DVD2AVI and save project. Select decode from audio menu to get the audio too.
3) open your DVD2AVI generated .d2v file with TMPGEnc VFAPI reader and convert it to an pseudo-avi
4) This pseudo-avi can be opened in ANY encoder, including TMPGEnc. Select it as your video source and the decoded wav file as your audio source. Then just select your source range and the VCD standard template (with or without your own modifications) and hit encode.
If you want to keep the original quality (not converting to VCD but sticking with SVCD:
1) You can use TMPGEnc mpeg tools to cut your mpg. However, the accuracy isn't very good.
2) Or, you can do the cutting with bbmpg:
a) Create the pseudo-avi (no audio needed) as described previously.
Open your pseudo-avi in VirtualDub to find out the cutting points.
b) Demultiplex your mpg with TMPGEnc
c) Remultiplex with bbmpg using start- and endpoints determined from the VirtualDub session. Remember to check the SVCD button!
