  1. Hey guys and gals, just got win7 64 bit nad instaled my vid apps and whatnot. I checked out 64 bit avisynth and it said it required me to instal 32 bit first, so I did install Koepis latest July 20,2012 is today's date. Then I ran the 64 bit cmd instaler as adminstrator. I tried to encode the first file and it says, "unknown exception"
I tried veedub 64 with a plain fraps avi file and it encoded no problem.

Any ideas? As I write this I will try another version or something.

  2. Don't use 64bit avisynth. It's unstable and many existing avisynth plugins are not developed for it

I think you misunderstood what you read. I do not believe that there is any reason the 64 bit version would need anything or even could use anything from the 32 bit one.

Anyway, the truth is that most filters aren't available in 64 bit AviSynth. I've used both under Win 7 and I'm pretty much exclusively using the 32 bit one now. Had too many issues with the 64 bit one and it just wasn't worth the trouble.

  4. I agree, forget 64 bit AviSynth for now. Stick to 32 bit. And of course, 32 bit versions of all the tools you use with it. Using 64 bit software will not improve execution speed significantly, just allow the programs to use more memory. And few benefit from more memory than 32 bit programs can use anyway.

  5. I tried a 32 bit build then tried the 64 bit build and neither worked, but all is well now. I uninstalled then tried a different 32 bit build and so far so good.
