Tried twice to shrink movie Killer Elite (I own) with bdrebuilder, Only goes to 22.48% then a screen comes up saying x264.exe has stopped working, Any ideas.

  2. That one was only released 7 days ago. Let me guess: Full disc backup? Maybe your ripper didn't remove all protection? If it has BD+ gen 12 protection, you'll need the latest update. (And I presume you're configured correctly and have done successful backups already with BDRB).

As a test, you could extract main movie with Clown_BD and see if BDRB can handle that.

    Good luck.

I did a full disc backup to hard drive Using the latest update with Dvdfab, Which said successfully. Only did one backup so far with BDRB, But it was with version vo.39.4, Now I'm using version vo.39.7. I never used Clown_BD before. Could it be that I should have also updated ffdshow, Haali Media Splitter and avisynth.

You may be dealing with VC-1 video. For many years BDRebuilder would just completely die if it tried to encode either interlaced VC-1 or VC-1 as a secondary video source. These issues have finally been fixed. Go into the BDRebuilder Setup menu and check this option to turn it on:
Use X264's internal LAVF for decoding
Retry your backup and hopefully it will work.

Just downloaded a BDRB Inspection program, It is coming up, AVISYNTH Version: 2.5.8.0, not recommended version and FFDSHOW: 3882, not recommended version, But these are the versions that Jdobbs recommends on his forum at doom9.

Also I see on the tool section of BDRB that there is a AVCHD Patcher , I'm not sure what there for or which version I need.

  7. AVCHDPatcher is unnecessary, check the box in settings for strict AVCHD instead. (And it has no effect when doing full disc and/or BD25 anyway. AVCHD Patcher was a workaround for early standalone players).

I'd uninstall the helper programs and re-install them. Use the links provided by jdobbs on the first page of the BDRB bug report thread. Since you have Win7, right click the BDRB executable and run as administrator. If there are any configuration problems, BDRB should offer to fix them for you. Then verify everything's okay with inspect.exe.

You may still have trouble with full disc backups occasionally if there are any interactive features like PiP, etc.

I used jman98 advise and it seems to be working so thanks, I'm at 50% thats twice as far as I got before so hopefully it works. fritzi93, I did use those links by jdobbs, but don't know why inspect.exe is saying avisynth and ffdshow or not recommended versions, But thanks for the info on the avchdpatcher, I will try your recommendations.

Ok, I got the movie to work. But now I'm trying to shrink just the main movie (killer elite) to a DVD-5 with BDrebuilder, And I got the same problem as before with .x264, So do I have to go back into the BDRebuilder Setup menu and uncheck (Use X264's internal LAVF for decoding) to turn it off.

If inspect.exe says wrong versions and you're sure they're correct, it's time to uninstall and re-install all the helper programs. Be sure to manually delete the Haali folder too, as jdobbs has said it sometimes gets corrupted and does not uninstall and re-install cleanly otherwise.

Thanks fritzi93, I just thought that if it wasn't going to work that it wouldn't work from the begining not 10% into the project. But I just tried VSO Blu-ray converter ultimate with just the main movie (killer elite) to a DVD-5, worked perfect, So great software by VSO, But I'm still going to try your suggestions (fritzi93) because with all the good reviews with BDrebuilder.
