Playing video to Google TV

I'm really at a loss here, and was hoping someone could help me out.

I am trying to stream movies to a Sony Blueray Google TV box. MOST of the movies I'm trying to stream, do so just fine. However, there are a handful that hang/lag. I've used the basic Media Player that comes with the system, I've purchased GTV Box media player. I originally tried to play the videos through SMB shares, then DNLS, different results, but the same videos have similar problems with played on the Google TV. I've tried putting the movies on USB drive and playing them locally, with the same results, so I'm pretty confident its not a network issue. Also, ALL the videos play fine locally on my computer.

Initially, all of the videos I'm having problems with are hi-res, > 720p with a video bit rate around 5,000. I have been using "Any Video Converter" to cut those down to 2,000 bit rate and 24 fps with limited sucess. But it seems that no matter what I do, those videos simply will not play well on my Google TV. Even though these configurations are in line with other videos that play just fine.

I want to think that there is something wrong with the video's themselves... but they play fine on my laptop
I want to think that the videos are just too "big" to stream... but they have the same problem played through USB drive.
I want to think that the freeware program I'm using is just doing a terrible job of encoding the files.... but how is that possible?

Any advice would be appreciated.

No idea until you define the videos in more detail. What are they?

A good start is the app mediainfo. Open the file, then select View, then text, then copy the result here (all of it).
