Apex AD1200, Supports "Windows Media files"??

Couldn't locate in compatibility list. And looks similar to the AD-1100W, but, this is what it states:

"Capable of supporting a variety of formats including MP3 and Windows Media files, this DVD will be a welcome addition to any entertainment system. So question - what does it mean by Windows Media Player?!? AVI!?

EDIT: Ok. Circuit City's web site is where I got the above information. This must be a brand new model. I did find Apex Web Site:

I don't see any mention of "Windows Media Player" support on Apex's web site - whatever that means.. curious though.. very curious where Circuit City got their info.

Windows Meida PLayer means the microsoft WMA format music files,
similar to mp3. I guess you can burn some WMA files on a CDR,
and play them.

Ah, bummer. :cry: Was hoping for some .AVI action.. heh, but probably not at that price. Anyway, I did send them a message asking what is meant by that.

Of course, Circuit City also claims Component Video, but if you zoom into the back of the unit on their web site, I don't see the component video jacks. That, and there's no mention of component video support on Apex's web site.

well, one of the sites is wrong, and i would assume it's circuit city, but you never know. Could be the Apex site isn't updated, because while the unit is currently for sale at circuit city, the Apex site says COMING SOON.

Correct, but if you go here:

These are all the "released" players. Which, the 1200 is listed.. but, you click on the 1200, and it says "comming soon".. so, my guess is, that they've moved the 1200 over to the released side, but didn't update the info on the 1200.

Now, if you go to the up and coming DVD Players at:

You'll see that the new players there state as part of their highlights:

"Microsoft Windows Media Player"

It's possible the 1200 did receive this feature.. perhaps they were able to get it into the new machine before it went to production.. Who knows.

But yeah, stating "Microsoft Media Player", perhaps you can play whatever MS Media Player will play by default before DivX and AC3 codes..? blah, who knows :)

I'll post when and if I hear from Apex.

Sorry, but believe me when i say that they are talking
about WMA file. There is NO WAY these devices are
gonna play all the formats that Windows Media Player
supports.

Other companies are also incorporating the WMA
files, so i'm sure it's just a simple typo.
