I backed up a disk in a Video_TS format, I opened my handbrake 0.9.5 which I just installed on my W7 64 bit PC and assigned the audio and video processing I wanted. I then browsed for a destination folder I created on my desktop and it wouldnt accept it. Which is to say I went to the folder I created called Hand Brake output and I was presented with the emptiness that is that folder and it said "no items match your search", well duh, I'm not trying to open something, I'm trying to select a folder for the final file to go to. What the??

    Is this a W& 64 bit thing?

I dont get it, everywhere I read said this is supposed to be a piece of cake. I followed the tutorial on this site adn I simply cannot specify a destination folder.

    Help!

You should name the file when you choose destination file. It's not the destination folder.

I use HB all the time with my W7 64bit system. No problems. You might try the add-on VidCoder as it's GUI for HB is a bit easier to use. I've also found that if you are just converting a DVD to MKV or similar, it's faster to do it directly from the DVD disc instead of ripping it to the hard drive first, then converting it. But you do need a decrypter like AnyDVD running in the background.

You can also set up a preset with all your favorite settings, then set that as default and that makes the conversions simpler. I use MKV single pass at a
CQ 0f 19.5 with AC3 pass through. I also turn on the 'Decomb' filter. It takes about 20 - 25 minutes or so for the encode. And about the same from a ripped DVD file. I end up with a ~1.5 - 2GB MKV with very good quality.

You do have to enter the name of your file when you browse to your output folder.

I got the following message while running a job on Handbreak "an error has occurred the job log has grown to over 100Mb which indicates that something has gone wrong"

    Where are the logs located?

    aedipuss,

I typed that into my search box on my W7 PC and it brought up the actual Handbrake application. I went into C drive and applications but there are no files named users. I'm kinda lost where these would be. The search continues
