Datavideo TBC-1000 problem (artifact)

Here is what I get sometimes when VHS video signal gets "dirty" (snapshot attached). If TBC-1000 is removed from the chain, then the vertical bold line disappears. I think I've read about something like that being the case with the TBC-1000, but I'm not 100% sure. Any suggestion would be appreciated. And it doesn't matter if I use S-video or composite connection.

Power related error, most likely.

I can't open your image, it needs to be a JPEG, PNG or GIF to view in the browser.
BMP has to download, launch Photoshop, etc etc -- nuisance. Maybe reload a web image for us.

Also, with 3 hour tape, TBC-1000 + miniDV camcorder Sony dropped frames, which really surprises me. Must be a defect of some sort. I'll check if I have some other power supply that might work with TBC-1000 (DC 12V). Not sure what it means, but inside of TBC-1000 there is apparently a red led that keeps blinking very slowly.

Anyway, this is my current setup:

Panasonic FS-200 (AG1980) > TBC-1000 > Sony DCR-TRV25E > PC (Pinnacle Studio)

S-VHS isn't a "connection". It's a tape format. I think you mean "s-video" (aka Y/C). There's no such animal as an "s-vhs" cable or plug.
