Picture problem

Hello.

After fresh Win7 installation I have a problem with picture quallity.
I have new mpc-hc, new ffdshow, new halii media splitter..

VLC is the best. But one thing that irritates me in VLC is impossibility to put subtitles BELOW picture.




I try to use 16-235 levels everywhere .. in video decoder configuration and in VFW configuration (ffd show program) .. and in mpc-hc I had option to change in view/renreder settings/output settings .. but that had no affect on picture quality.

Maybe its something with my graphic card ? Some wrong settings ?

What do you mean by picture quality? Is the image too dark ?

Turn off all the filtering options in your graphics card's video settings. Then adjust the video proc amp settings using a levels test pattern.

What do you mean by picture quality? Is the image too dark ?

Can't you see difference between images ?
VLC is obviously the best.

I see that VLC seems more contrasty giving a slightly "harder" look.

I don't know what the video is supposed to look like so I can't say which has correct levels. The BSPlayer image is very washed out. I suspect the second MPC image and the VLC image have proper levels. The first MPC image has lost all small details and is show showing lots of macroblocking -- probably from over compression of the the JPG image. The VLC image is very grainy. I don't know if that's in the original video or a result of a sharpening filter.
