    can anyone help me with this?? I have a LG BD 390 blu ray dvd/cd player but it won't play a dvd made in the UK & a few from thailand (good quality dvd's)it says "check region code" what can I do to get them to play & not affect australian cd's & dvd's I play?

    I think by law Australian players MUST be region free at least for DVD....not sure about Blu Ray. Contact LG Australia or where you bought it. A simple DVD copy on a computer with software like DVDFabDecrypter will also remove the region code from the copy you burn.

    thanks for your reply, I have called harvey norman & LG & neither were of any valuable assistance.LG said that by hacking the region code I could lose my warranty if something stuffs up, but I want to be able to play them & no one wants to help!!

    It means ripping to your hard drive and burning on DVDR. You might consider a second DVD player for out of region DVD's. Most Philips DVD players can be made region free easily.
