I've looked at a number of programs like clipnabber and also using the video download helper add on with Firefox and have had no luck so far.

The video I want to copy is at http://www.obx360.com/brindley_beach/wl1036/360vt.html

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Even better, any step-by-step info would be really appreciated!

I dont' thinks its any video. Just a "3d" image that you can rotate. Try use a screen recorder like replay video capture.

I'm pretty sure these are videos taken with a revolving camera on a tripod. I watched them being taken.
The videos are followed by a sequence of still shots.

Is there a way to at least record or copy the video portion, if not the stills in sequence?

It doesnīt matter, how they shoot it.
Check out the web for "Tourweaver" - easypano.
There you get an idea, how this is done. And that itīs no video at all.

  5. Another realtime video capture is Fraps. Just watch in fullscreen and press the record button.

you mean the series of stills woven together?
a few clicks of the software will do this for you
why would you want to copy someone elses home?

Ok, I'm game to try Fraps.

    I downloaded and installed it.

I hit F9 which is the default button to start recording, yet I see no visual indication that any recording is occurring, and when I go the the fraps folder, I see no movies so far.

Must be doing something wrong. Have fraps set to start with windows, so it surely must be on.

Otherwise I left the defaults alone.

    Any ideas are welcome

  8. It works great for me! You have to watch in fullscreen to capture with Fraps.

Curious if anyone tried Fraps with the video/stills I have at http://www.obx360.com/brindley_beach/wl1036/360vt.html

The prior poster said you have to use full screen. Not sure how this is done with my material, as it looks more like 3/4 screen.

  10. Yes I tried Fraps with http://www.obx360.com/brindley_beach/wl1036/360vt.html

It works great. Just double click on the video or right click and choose fullscreen.

If it doesn't work for you maybe it's because of your OS, browser or something else. I use Win7 and FireFox.

ok great, i got it to work with the full screen, though I had not noticed that requirement in the Fraps info.

Curious if anyone knows the max file size on youtube. These 30 sec files seem to be about 80-100mb.

Update: I see they seem to allow files up to 2gp and 15 min in length..... great

Can anyone recommend and free or shareware video editing software good for a novice? I'd like to put some of these clips together. thanks to all!

  12. 2GB and 15min. Some users can upload longer videos and you can upload 20 GB if Java-based Advanced Uploader is used.

I tried one called video edit magic, which was pretty easy, but that has a large brand at the top in the shareware version!

  14. VirtualDub will do it for you. Open the first clip and select "Automatically load linked segments" if the clips have linked filenames. If not open the first clip and then "Append AVI segment" in the "file" menu.

I appreciate the tip on VirtualDub.

I was wondering if there are any free editors that will allow you to drop and drag files, using a horizontal time interface?
