Well what can I say about me? Well I was born in Baltimore, Maryland USA on October 12, 1970. I had a bad childhood, there were no drugs related. I am a Star Trek and Sci-Fi fan since I was 8 years old, with emphasis on Star Trek. I love the entire genre of Star Trek that includes all the shows and the technical side of it. I love all Sci-Fi including Star Wars and Babylon 5. I love Japanese Animation and I also collect Comics. I have been playing video games since I was a kid. I went to the Arcades and I owned our long beloved Sega Genesis. I now own a Game Cube and a XBOX. My all time favorite game babes are BloodRayne and Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft. I do like Vanessa Z. Schneider and Motoko Kusanagi. My favorire games are of course BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2, Starcraft, P.N. 03, Soul Calibur2, and DOA. I live in Glen Burnie, Maryland in the good ole USA. I am 6'1' and weigh 240 lbs. I have brown hair and blue eyes. I love food and drinks. Well I am married for 5 years now and I am having so much fun.

Hey there!
Fellow Star Trek and Star Wars fan here - I lean more towards Star Wars but like all of Star Trek except Enterprise (some was ok but not a fan of it).
I'm a closet anime fan. Don't really have a favorite series other than ROBOTECH that is. But I dabble in it here and there.
I don't know much about the games you like there. Not really an rts fan. I have a ps3 and xbox 360. I like more action oriented games. I've finished Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood, and am now finishing AC1. I have played a ton of other action games and have Rockband and Guitar Hero as well.
Browse the forum for my user name and you'll know all you need to know about me(and some I probably won't own up to if you press me on it
)

Welcome. I am also a fan of Star Trek and to a lesser degree Star Wars, B5, Andromeda, BSG (old & new), Blakes7, Dr. Who, StarHunter, Firefly, and so many others. Sci-Fi is my favorite form of entertainment. I even write Sci-Fi. But I never could get into anime and I'm not a gamer. I don't post as much as I used to, but I usually check in here every day. It's a good place to be.

If you know somebody with an xbox 360 try playing a Halo game. You'll get hooked. Trust me. Or God of War on the PS3.
Actually the best game I've played in a long time was Uncharted 2 on the ps3. Great action and the full feel of a real good action adventure movie but in game form.
I have played many good games since but Uncharted 2 is in a class by itself. And I'm anxiously awaiting for November for Uncharted 3.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
As an anime fan and a gamecube owner, ya might wanna see if you can buy Tales of Symphonia, used, for the Gamecube (if you don't own it already).
The characters are anime style; so it's like the best of both worlds.
If you have an Xbox 360, there's a Tales game for that system too; Tales of Vesperia.
I don't think they made any Tales Games for the original XBOX though. -

I still have not finished Vesperia. Its a great game but definitely time consuming. The one problem for me with games like that is the lack of handy save points. Where I am at right now I have to restart a cutscene sequence that I can't skip just to get to the battle again.
I do have the strategy guide for it. So when I do try to get back into it and focus on it I'll have a good head start. I have no idea how far along I am in it though.
FYI I don't have any Nintendo products anymore. I traded in my DS in the winter and I traded in my WII this spring. I am nintendo free for the first time in a long time (well "current gen" nintendo free - I still have my nes and snes in storage).
Edit - correction I see the original poster does mention having a gamecube so that should be good info for the poster as well.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -

THey also have a few TALES animes based on that game series. They have some Street Fighter ones too.
But a side note you could skim youtube and look for the cutscenes if there is a game series you might be interested in. Though it loses some of its meaning and impact when not playing the game. The story is told but the rush you get from completing a level in order to actually see the cutscene is removed.Donatello - The Shredder? If ya can get a hold of a used PlayStation 2 console, and pick up a new or used copy of the game Wild Arms 5, you'll be in for a real treat.
It's a great game for beginners, and you can take as long as you need on the few places in the game that require hand-eye coordination.
The battles are all turn-based, and you can take as much time as you want to make selections.
You can also get a free walk-through guide for this game, at GameFaqs.com [Link]
As you play the game, the different features are presented to you slowly, over time, and include in-game instructions/tutorials, so as to not overwhelm the gamer. -
Joe the dude brings up a good point.
@gadgetguy - not all games play like halo or fallout or resistance.
Have you tried mmo's like wow? THey also have rts games like starcraft (I think starcraft is technically a rts game isn't it? real time strategy).
There are plenty of different categories of games that don't need fast twitch reaction timing. THere are a lot of smaller downloadable games that are more recreational. Plenty of puzzle games too.
Take some free time and browse STEAM for games that aren't high paced action games. I'm sure steam has trial downloads.
