Does any know of an external sata 3.5 enclosure that has an auto shutdown feature? Meaning that if the drive is not being accessed or is not getting a read signal it will power down?
The reason I ask is that I have an external drive connected to my LG BR player via USB that has all of my kids movies ripped to. (And the discs are safely stored away. ) The problem is that to turn off the drive, you have to unplug the power cable when you are finished watching the movies. Those of you who have kids know about how often they would remember to do that. It would help reduce wear and tear on the drive if it shut down after watching the movies.

For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!

I would check to see if anyone had one with an on/off switch. I usually use someone such as Newegg.

I have seen the ones with the on/off switch too. It beats pulling the cord in and out but would rather have the auto shut-down.
I have found a few 2.5 that seems to have this feature but my BR player does not pump out enough juice to power an external 2.5 drive. For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!
