A few years ago, in my wisdom I converted hundreds of MP3s to CDA disks thus losing all the tag info. Is there a way to convert back to MP3 using a product like Media Monkey to find and re-instate the tags?

dbpoweramp can try, but mp3s converted to cd aren't the same as the originals. it may work, but the sound quality work be very good either.

looks like mediamonkey can access freedb for album tags also.

I have the free Media Monkey. What are the steps for converting back to MP3 and then burning including the new tags

Which free version of Media Monkey you are using. Long back I have also use same one, but when I switched OS, everything was wiped-out.
Then after I had Rythembox, XMMS and Amarok. I still remember I replaced lame mp3 library and it was free.

I just wanna give Media Monkey a shot under WINE.
    Thanks!

Media Monkey lists the tracks fine from the CD. (These are all compilation CDs,) but when I go to burn as MP3s the track info has gone.
