How can I find which BluRay players will allow me to play AVCHD movies from an external hard drive connected to the USB port of the BluRay player. Thanks in advance.

I know most Sony, JVC and Panasonic Blu-ray players can because they invented the format. The problem is the AVCHD files have to be formatted a certain way otherwise they won't play. You should visit the AVS forums to find out for sure:

I don't think the Panasonics can from the USB port. They are limited to what formats can be played from the USB port, I believe it's just DIVX and MKV?
